As an asylum applicant, you will not receive child benefit until your asylum application has been approved. You can then also receive child benefit for the time before your application was approved if you have been living in Germany for at least six months.

As a refugee from Ukraine, you do not need to apply for asylum. And child benefit does not provide any additional financial advantage for people who have been granted asylum status or for recognised refugees.
