You can travel free of charge on trains to Germany using your Ukrainian passport or Ukrainian ID card (model 2015) or if you are a national of another country who was living in Ukraine before 24 February 2022. You do not need to buy a ticket. If you wish to travel onward to another city after arriving in Germany, you can get a free “helpukraine” ticket.

When you travel by taxi, bus or other means of transport, let your friends and/or family know where you are. If anything feels suspicious, get out of the taxi, bus or other vehicle immediately.

Before getting into a vehicle, take a photo of the vehicle’s number plate and send it to your friends and/or family. Do not get into a car if the driver does not let you take a photo of the number plate.
